May 2019 we expanded on Pride 2018 from just one small section of street to the whole block on Main Street, as well as, the side street we occupied the previous year.

Due to the global pandemic in 2020 Smithers Pride was able to move online. Thanks to this we were able to host our Annual pride albeit in a less conventional way.

Smithers Queer Film Festival

Queer Film Night

We hosted our first Queer Film Festival in partnership with the VQFF. With their help we were able to showcase 4 short films and 1 feature film; all of which had been played at the VQFF

Films:

  • La Ceri-se - Bruna Arbex
  • Everything's Great - Linnea Ritland
