Members are the cornerstone of the Smithers Pride Society. They participate in discussions and decisions that impact our organization’s future. As we work towards our vision and mission, we are only as strong as our diverse and representative membership. If you would like to be more involved with Smithers Pride, we welcome your application!

Applying for Membership

An individual is eligible for membership in the Smithers Pride Society if they:

1. Acknowledge their support for the vision, mission and values of SPS.
2. Pay the annual membership fee of $20

Membership fees may be waived for individuals belonging to certain marginalized or racialized 2SLGBTQ+ communities, please contact our Membership Coordinator at info@smitherspride.com for more information.

A person meeting the eligibility requirements may apply to the Board for membership by filling out the form below. The person becomes a member upon the approval of the Board via a membership resolution. Memberships remain in good standing until the termination of the AGM of the year in which the application was approved. Memberships can be renewed for the following year at the AGM for those in attendance.

Rights of Members

Every member in good standing is entitled to:

1. Receive notice, attend and vote in person or by proxy at General Meetings.
2. Run for election to the SPS Board of Directors.
3. All other rights afforded in the Societies Act.

Membership in the Society is not transferable.
